Rights as a Member of the Cooperative
a) Members of the Cooperatives shall have the right to:
i. One vote on all matters to be decided by the Members;
ii. Nominate candidates to or be nominated to serve on the Board;
iii. Attend all meetings of the Members of the Cooperative;
iv. Receive information concerning the Cooperative;
v. Submit resolutions and/or proposals at Members’ meetings; and
vi. Receive a patronage return pursuant to the Coop’s Bylaws and the Canada Cooperatives Act.
b) Members of the Cooperative are obligated to:
i. Use the Cooperative’s services;
ii. Purchase at least one investment share as available and authorized by the Board from time to time;
iii. Adhere to the Coop’s Bylaws, the Membership Agreement, the regulations, and the Canada Cooperatives Act.

Obligations of the Cooperative to Members
As a member of the Cooperative, I understand that the Cooperative must:
a) Notify me about meetings and explain how I can take part in the Cooperative's decision-making.
b) Ensure a clear and efficient decision-making process that includes all members and supports the Cooperative's goals.
c) Conduct its business in ways that benefit both the Cooperative and its members.
d) Use my financial contributions wisely and responsibly, and return my shares if I decide to leave the Cooperative.

Confidentiality
Upon being granted membership in the Cooperative, members shall be considered to have entered into a confidentiality agreement with the Cooperative, and will be prohibited from divulging any information concerning
the Cooperative that could, directly or indirectly:
(a) Adversely affect the interests of the Cooperative,
(b) Place the Cooperative at a competitive disadvantage vis-à-vis existing or potential competitors, or
(c) Result in significant harm to the reputation or image of the Cooperative, except for information that is generally known to the public, was lawfully possessed by a member prior to its disclosure by the Cooperative, or is obtained by the member from a source not subject to any legal, contractual, or fiduciary obligation prohibiting disclosure.

Remittances to Afripride Cooperative
Minimum membership share purchase of $250 payable at afripridewomencooperative@gmail.com within 6 months of joining the Cooperative. I understand that my Membership Share is not transferable, and I agree not to sell, assign any interest in, or otherwise transfer my Membership Share, except as provided in the AWC Bylaws.

Nominee/Next of Kin Details

I the undersigned, upon my demise whilst a member of Afripride Women Cooperative, hereby instruct the Cooperative to pay all amounts due to me less any debts owed to the Cooperative, to the person(s) named in this section. I understand that I may alter the name of the nominated next of kin by filling a subsequent nominee form.

Please provide a guardian if the nominee (s) is/are below 16 years.
